Instantly the father of the child exclaimed, “I do trust — help my lack of trust!”
The exchange between Messiah and this father feels a little interesting to me. You should read it for yourself and see if anything stands out to you. My focus was drawn to the man questioning Messiah’s ability to expel the demon from his son. The disciples had failed to. I believe Messiah and his disciples already had a reputation for expelling demons and that’s why this man brought his son to them. It is reasonable that he would doubt after having seen the others fail. What I love is the fact that our Heavenly Father gives us the space to doubt and to struggle with our faith and eventually grow. I love the man’s prayer: help my lack of trust. May the Most High help us all with our lack of trust. May we be strengthened to have unshakable faith.
