Scriptural Meditation- 1 Kings 5:19

So now I intend to build a house for the name of The LORD my G-d, in keeping with what The LORD said to David my father, ‘Your son, whom I will put on your throne in your place, will be the one to build the house for my name.’

The work of the Kingdom is never done, there is always another level we can reach as we draw ever closer to the Infinite. David engaged in the bloody work of freeing Israel from her enemies. Shlomo took a position of power and brought glory to Heaven through Wisdom and building bridges between Israel and the nations. After that, Shlomo saw it was time to build a dwelling place for The LORD and undertook the effort at great expense.
