For what does the Tanakh say? “Avraham put his trust in G-d, and it was credited to his account as righteousness.”
Faith or trust without works is dead, right? How does that jive with Paul’s statement here? There is a hidden depth in this beautiful little line. Avram was called out of his land when he was 75 years old. He was told he would have descendants who would inherit the new land he journeyed through. Many things happened, but among them, were that he and Sarah were not able to conceive Issac until 24 years later. Avraham, then renamed Avraham by HaShem, circumcised himself at 99 years old! After that, only after that was he visited and told that one year later Issac would be born to him and Sarah. Avram, Avraham had faith, yes. He trusted, yes. He demonstrated his trust and faith in the Father in how he lived his life. May we be true sons and daughters of Abraham and live a life that shows how we trust in our Heavenly Father!
