When the guild prophets of Yericho saw him in the distance, they said, “The spirit of Eliyahu does rest on Elisha.” Advancing to meet him, they prostrated themselves on the ground before him
Was is this “spirit of Eliyahu?” Is Eliyahu in Chronicles? Does be appear somewhere else and do a lot nore? It feels like he just pops up, does a very few things and then goes away. Later, Messiah says John the Immerser comes in the “spirit if Elijah” and even the guild prophets say that Eliyahu’s spirit is on Elisha. What am I missing? What is so special about Eliyahu? I find it curious and I look forward to working through this as I keep studying the Bible.
