Scriptural Meditation- 2 Kings 4:3-4

Then he said, “Go, and borrow containers from all your neighbors, empty containers; and don’t borrow just a few! Then go in; shut the door, with you and your sons inside; and pour oil into all those containers; and as they are filled, put them aside.”

The prophet’s widow and her sons needed blessing and provision. When she asked Elisha to help her, he didn’t simply rain sustenance down on her. She had to do the work of borrowing vessels from her neighbors and then filling them all from one jar of oil. Borrowing all those vessels took faith and work and through that she gained blessing. We can not expect blessing to fall on us, we must pursue it in faith by putting in the effort every day.
