The mystery of the Nazarite vow elevates an ordinary person to a higher status. Samson and John stood apart by their dedication. Bind yourself to reading the Word daily and find out what the Almighty can accomplish through you.
The second portion of the book of Bamidbar/Numbers is Nasso, which means “Take.” This is the thirty-fifth Torah Portion.
Naso (“Take A Census”), the longest portion in the Torah, opens by detailing responsibilities of the Levites. It also describes laws of a woman suspected of adultery (sotah), the Nazirite, and the priestly blessing. The portion ends by listing the gifts that heads of tribes bring to the Mishkan (Tabernacle).
In the Haftorah, the miraculous conception of Samson, Nazarite from birth and Judge of Israel is foretold.
In the Apostolic Writings, the miraculous birth of John the Immerser is told to his Cohen father Zachariah.
