Israel was afflicted for Her sins. Messiah bore her sins and yours so that all would be saved. Honor that sacrifice by studying and learning how to live for Heaven’s sake.
The third portion of the book of Devarim/Deuteronomy is Eikev, which means “Because.” This is the forty-sixth Torah Portion.
In Eikev (“As a Result”), Moses recounts events that happened in the desert, including the manna, the golden calf, and Aaron’s death. Moses describes the blessings G-d will bestow upon the Israelites if they follow G-d’s law and the punishments they will encounter if they disobey.
In the Haftorah, the prophet comforts Zion saying the Almighty has engraved Israel on the palm of His hand and He will restore her and her children to honor and glory.
In the Apostolic Writings, the Master blesses Simon Peter because the Father reveled to him that he is the Messiah.
