Take refuge in the Word. Learn it to know the Father of all and may you be a light to draw your brothers and sisters closer to Him.
The second portion of the book of Beresheet/Genesis is Noach, which means “Rest.” This is the 2nd Torah Portion.
Noach (“Noah”) begins as G-d decides to destroy mankind with a flood. At G-d’s command, the righteous Noah builds an ark, where Noah, his family, and select animals survive the flood. Noah’s children bear children, and several generations develop. G-d confounds the speech of people building the Tower of Babel.
In the Haftorah, Isaiah assures the Jewish people that G‑d has not forsaken them. Although He has momentarily hid His countenance from them, He will gather them from their exiles with great mercy.
In the Apostolic Writings, Messiah likens the coming day of Judgement to the Flood.
TORAH: Genesis 6:9-11:32
